Made with Model 1: how to get your AI film seen, and how VideoGen will help

Join the VideoGen Model 1 Creator Program. Credit Model 1, send us your film, and we co-promote the best ones. Plus every festival, curator, platform, and press outlet worth sending your AI film to.

You made a film with VideoGen Model 1. Here's how to get it seen, and how we'll help.

An AI agent like ChatGPT or Claude can speed up the submission work a lot. If you use one, we recommend downloading our full list of 142 festivals, platforms, curators, and outlets (CSV), which includes submission links, AI policies, deadlines, and fees. Upload it with a description of your film, and ask the agent to pick the venues that fit and draft each submission.

Submitting by hand takes real work, so focus on the highest-priority venues in the steps below.

The Model 1 Creator Program

Any film that used Model 1 in its production qualifies. It doesn't have to be the final render: using Model 1 to prototype or previsualize your scenes counts, and you can combine it with any other tools.

What you do

  1. Credit us. Add "Made with VideoGen Model 1" to your film's credits or end card.
  2. Link to us when you post it. Include "Made with VideoGen Model 1" and a link to videogen.io/model-1 in your YouTube description, X post, or caption. Tagging us is optional but helps us spot it: @VideoGenApp on X and YouTube, @videogenapp on Instagram, @videogenapp2 on TikTok.
  3. Send it to us. Email creators@videogen.io when it's live, and again when it's selected somewhere.

What you get

  • An email blast to over 1 million people. We feature the best films to our email list.
  • Our social channels and the Model 1 page, with a link back to you.
  • Bonus credits for your next film.
  • Press and industry introductions, including partners exploring funding for larger projects.
  • Work with us. We're looking for filmmakers to collaborate with on future projects.

We look for strong stories and well-made films in any genre, up to 10 minutes long. You don't need festival awards to be featured. Haven't made one yet? Request Model 1 access and apply for a share of $1 million in free AI credits.

Step 1: Post it on all your socials

Post your film as soon as it's finished. The free festivals below accept films that are already online, so there's no reason to wait.

  • YouTube: upload the full film and put the credit and the link in the description.
  • TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels: post a 30 to 90 second clip that starts with your best moment, and point viewers to the full film.
  • X: upload a clip directly, and add a few posts about how you made it. Many AI filmmakers follow each other there.
  • Instagram and LinkedIn: share it with your own network too. LinkedIn accepts videos up to 15 minutes, so you can post the whole film.

How we help: we reshare the best posts that link to us.

Step 2: Share it on free film sites

Most festivals take submissions on FilmFreeway. Set up one project page with your poster, stills, and synopsis, and reuse it everywhere. Sundance, TIFF, and Venice also accept AI films if you say how you used AI.

Step 5: Earn from it and get press

  • Get paid. AI channels earn through the YouTube Partner Program as long as each video is original, and TikTok Series lets you sell a film behind a paywall. Microdrama apps Holywater (creative-partnership@holywater.tech) and DramaBox (distribution@dramabox.com) license AI series; send the first three episodes and a logline.
  • Get press. Journalists usually write about news, such as a festival selection, a view milestone, or a deal. When you have something like that, pitch No Film School and let us know. We send journalists covering Model 1 to the creators behind the best films.
  • Make your next film. Creators who credit Model 1 get bonus credits to put toward it.

Good to know

  • Festivals often ask whether you used AI. Say yes and name your tools.
  • Keep your project files. In the US, copyright covers the human parts of an AI film, like the script and the edit.
  • Use music you've licensed for all uses, not just festivals.

Get the full list

Download all 142 places to submit, publish, and pitch your AI film (CSV). Every venue on it accepts films made with Model 1. Each row has the submission link, rules, AI policy, deadlines, fees, prizes, runtime limits, and premiere rules. Deadlines were last checked in October 2026.

The list is built for AI agents. Upload it to ChatGPT or Claude with your film's title, logline, runtime, and genre, then ask it to shortlist the venues your film qualifies for, sorted by deadline, and to draft each submission. Without an agent, working through every row is a lot of manual work, so stick to the steps above.
